Prof. Rui Fernandes

Dr. Fernandes is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with Certificate of Added Qualification in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Surgery by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Florida and holds appointments in the Departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Orthopedic Surgery and Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville. Currently, he serves as the Chief of Head and Neck Surgery, Director of the Head and Neck/Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery fellowship, Director of the Center for Reconstructive Surgery, Co-Director of the Skull Base Surgery Program and Associate Chairman of the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Fernandes is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (ad. Hominem), as well as many other surgical and medical associations in the USA. He is an honorary fellow of the Spanish Society of OMS, the Mexican Association of OMS, Pakistan Association of OMS, and the Costa Rican Society of OMS.

He has lectured extensively nationally and internationally and has authored numerous manuscripts in the areas of head and neck oncology and reconstructive surgery as well a single author textbook Atlas of Local Regional Flaps in Head and Neck Surgery and is co-editor of the recently published textbook Oral, Head Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery.

Prof. Aziz Aliyev

Professor Aziz Jamil Aliyev, MD, Ph.D., Dean of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State medical university (Sechenov University) of the Ministry Health of the Russian Federation Baku Branch (from December 14, 2015). Leading researcher and surgeon-oncologist of the head and neck surgery department, National Oncology Center, Baku, Azerbaijan (from May 2013).
Biography

Aziz Aliyev was born on January 16, 1975 in Baku city.
In 1991, he graduated from Baku secondary school N134 with silver medal.
In 1991, he entered medical science studies of the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute.
In 1992, he continued his education in the United States of America (by State educational program) and in 1999, he graduated from New-York University.
From 1999 until 2002, he continued his education in Pittsburg Medical University Clinic residency (USA). During his residency rotated in head and neck surgery department.
After returning to Azerbaijan, started to work in Azerbaijan Medical University.
In 2003, the scientific work defended in the USA by Aziz Aliyev, was accepted by the Highest Attestation Commission (HAC) under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic and awarded the title of Ph.D. In 2008 after the successful defense of his doctoral dissertation in Oncology, the Highest Attestation Committee (HAC) under the President of Azerbaijan Republic awarded him title Doctor of Medical Sciences.
From May 2009 until November 2010, he had internship in Germany and confirmed his medical license.
In 2011, he confirmed his surgeon license in Austria.
From 2011 until 2013, he worked in Barmherzigen Schwestern hospital (Austria) as surgeon-oncologist in head and neck surgery department.
From April 2013 until September 2014 – clinical vice dean of Azerbaijan medical university.
From May 2013 - leading researcher and surgeon-oncologist in the department of head and neck surgery of the National Oncology Center of Azerbaijan Republic.
From 2014 – he is a member of editorial board of “Azerbaijan Journal of Oncology”.
From 2015 – member of Dissertation Committee on “oncology” and “radiation diagnosis and therapy” specialties.
From 2015 – member of the academic Council of National Oncology Center.
December 2015 – Prof. Aziz Aliyev was appointed by the President of Azerbaijan Republic as dean of the Baku branch I.M.Sechenov First Moscow state medical university (Sechenov University).
In 2016, HAC under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic awarded him the title Professor in Oncology specialty.
In 2016, he was awarded an international diploma of surgeon in head and neck oncology in Memorial Sloan-Kettering Oncology Center, New York, USA.
Professor A.Aliyev – member of the American and European societies of clinical oncologists. In Azerbaijan professor A.Aliyev is one of the leading specialists in diagnosis and treatment of the head and neck tumors by using the best world medical practice.
One of the important areas of his scientific and practical activity is the treatment of the thyroid gland pathology. Under the leadership of professor A.Aliyev a comprehensive program was created for the prevention and early diagnosis of thyroid cancer. During this program in the recent years the epidemiological and molecular-genetic studies of thyroid pathologies were conducted. As a result of these studies the risk factors for thyroid cancer were identified and prophylaxis program was designed.
In diagnosis and treatment of the thyroid cancer, professor A.Aliyev uses the most advanced technologies: fine-needle biopsy, radionuclide investigations of thyroid gland, SPECT-CT (single-channel positron emission computer tomography), treatment with radioactive iodine, etc. Advanced diagnostic methods allow to determine the extent of the thyroid cancer which allows to provide the patients with adequate surgical treatment together with radioactive iodine therapy.
Another direction of scientific and practical activity of professor A.Aliyev is the diagnosis and treatment of laryngeal cancer. He has introduced into clinical practice a special device that allows patients to speak freely after removal of the larynx. Also laser surgery has been introduced in the early stages of laryngeal cancer, which contributes to organ-preserving surgery and the avoidance of radiotherapy. His other areas of expertise are skin cancer of head and neck region, tongue cancer, parotid and submandibular gland tumors.
He reports regularly the results of his research at international congresses and conferences of oncologists. With the direct participation of professor A.Aliyev number of agreements on scientific and practical cooperation between the Azerbaijan National Oncology Center and the leading Cancer Centers of Europe and USA were signed like MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, Texas, USA).
Due to his organizational skills and under his leadership, international conferences on the diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors regularly take place in Azerbaijan with the participation of well-known scientists from the United States and Europe. At the same time, these conferences held not only in Baku, but also in other cities of Azerbaijan (Nakhchivan, Ganja, Gabala, Shaki etc.). The reports of professor A.Aliyev on the results of his research at these conferences provide invaluable knowledge and assistance to young doctors and residents.
Moreover, Azerbaijan National Cancer Registry, which joined the International Cancer Association, was created in the National Oncology Center with direct participation of professor A.Aliyev,
At the present time under the guidance of professor A.Aliyev 4 dissertations for the degree Doctor of Philosophy in medicine are carried out.
Professor A.Aliyev published 40 printed articles devoted to the solution of modern oncology problems, including 1 monograph, 4 textbooks, and 1 methodical recommendation.
He speaks Azerbaijani, Russian, English and German.
Married, has two children.

S.M. Prof. Adil Mamedov

Mammadov Adil Askerovich, was born on March 18, 1948 in Uzbekistan in a family of doctors.
In 1971 he graduated from the dental faculty of state medical Institute of Kazahstan.
From 1975 to 1977 he was trained in clinical residency in the Department of pediatric surgical dentistry CNIIC
Since 1978, he continued to work at CNIIC as a junior researcher, then as a senior researcher, where in 1986 he defended his thesis on "Endoscopic assessment of the function of the Palatine-pharyngeal ring in children after uranoplasty". In 1989, for the development of "Stavropolpolymer" awarded a bronze medal VDNH USSR.
In December 1997, a dissertation for the degree of doctor of medical Sciences on the topic "Comprehensive rehabilitation of patients with Palatine pharyngeal insufficiency and speech disorders after uranoplasty."
Since 2002 he has been head of the Department of pediatric dentistry and orthodontics of the dental faculty of the first MSMU. I. M. Sechenov 
Together with the leading dentists of Russia, Mammadov is the editor of the journal "pediatric dentistry". He is a member of the editorial Board of 3 domestic and three foreign journals in dentistry (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan).
He have developed the centers of rehabilitation of children with congenital pathology of the maxillofacial region in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Magadan, Tula, and Lipetsk.
.
Currently, he continues regularly give lectures, conducts seminars with clinical residents, graduate students and" master classes " with students studying in the workplace on topical issues of pediatric maxillofacial surgery. He operated more than 4,500 children with this pathology at the age of 0 to 18 years and older.
In 2008 he was awarded the additional qualification of "Teacher of higher education". He is a doctor of the highest category.
. He is a participant in the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident (1986). He traveled with the mission "Doctors of the world without borders" in the zone of local conflicts (1998), he is a member of the Association of veterans of the Russian interior Ministry (2009). In February 2012, he went to Africa - South Sudan (Juba) as part of the AMOR humanitarian mission, "Doctors of the world without borders", where he conducted operations for children with pathology of the maxillofacial region.
He is an academician of the International Academy of authors of scientific discoveries and inventions ,academician of the International Academy of Informatization (MAy, 2001), academician of the Russian Academy of medical and technical Sciences and a member of the Russian Academy of natural Sciences (RAEN, 2007), chief accredited expert of the Federal service for supervision of health and social development of ROSZDRAVNADZOR for pediatric dentistry (2011).
Collaborates with the international charitable Foundation "International Cleft Lip and Palate Foundation", located in Japan. Together with the parents of his patients he organized the Russian charity Foundation for children "Congenital cleft lip and palate" (June 01, 2001)

Prof. Mustafa Sancar

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sancar ATAÇ graduated from İstanbul University in 1997 and has joined to Specialty education programme in Gazi University in Ankara in 1998. He holds specialist diploma of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2004. He also defended his PhD Thesis in 2004. During specialty education he completed his medical education programme in 2000- 2001 in departments of, Anesthesiology and Reanimation,  Otorhinolaryngology- Head and Neck Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Surgery.  He had visited New York University Institution of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery division of Craniofacial Surgery in 2002. In 2004 he visited University of Washington in Seattle for  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 2005 he visited University Hospital in Zürich Department of Craniomaxillofacial and Oral Surgery and in 2011 visited Ilizarov Orthopedics and Traumatology centre in Syberia- Russia. 
He had more than 150 national and international scientific publications and oral- poster presentations including SCI journals. He has directed 5 PhD and specialty thesis. He is reviewer author for many SCI journals. 
He is Treasurer in Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons since 2008. He became Associate Professor in 2010. Now he is full time Professor in the department both as lecturer and surgeon. He is councilor of Turkey for EACMFS and IAOMS. His main interests are, Orthognathic & Corrective dento-facial deformity Surgery, Temporomandibular joint pathology and Surgery, Advanced-reconstructive implant surgery and 3D design and printing technologies in medicine.

Prof. Ozhan Bekir Celebiler

He was graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Medical Faculty in 1982. After Military service he began his tranining at Gülhane Military Medical Academy , Haydarpaşa Training Hospital Dept of Plastic Surgery and become a plastic Surgeon at 1991. Same year he became Asistant Professor at Marmara University School Medicine Departement of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He  visited Maxillofacial Departement,  University of Cologne, Germany for three months in 1993. Between 1996-1997 ,Heworked  as a research fellow in Craniofacial Institute , Troy , MI, USA .
